[Quality]
What follows is something that a friend passed me a long, long time ago. I do not remember where you took it, handed it to me or why, but I know that every few time I open this file that I have never canceled, I reread it and I think that maybe, just maybe, I could really become a writer in - sooner or then.
's not something I say or often or loudly, because these days everyone thinks they can do the writers and compete in the original stories that have nothing original, that will never go anywhere despite their conviction, but sometimes I need to tell me to remember. I want to write, I write to live.
"These are the qualities that you should have or seek to acquire if you want to become a novelist:
1. You must have a fertile imagination.
2. You must know how to write well. By this I mean that you should be able to live in the reader's mind the scenario you describe. Not everyone has this gift. It 's a gift of nature, that you have or you do not have.
3. You must have stamina. In other words, you have to apply to what you are doing and never give up, for hours, weeks, months.
4. You must be perfectionists. This means that you should never be satisfied with what you have written the first time but rewrite it continuously up to give the best of yourself.
5. You must have a strong self-discipline. The writer works alone. You are not employed by anyone, no one is ready to resign if you do not show for work, or make you a lecture if you go slow.
6. It will be an advantage if you have a sense of humor. [...]
7. You must have a good dose of humility. Those who are convinced to write wonderful things, reaches out to bitter disappointment. "
