What can I say, I think I'm obsessed with Donald and Yorick. I also added a character in the Team! Wizards, because I do not exclude the other teams seemed nice, only I'm afraid that I left to take on the situation. In any case. Good reading.
The title is taken from a song by My Chemical Romance.
smelled of old and rancid, wet and dirty.
From rock walls and water that flowed silently towards the ground bristling with spikes annoying, there was a breath of air to move that stench that smelled of death and ancient magic spells and far forgot to protect the source .
There was only one small light to illuminate the interior of that part of the cave so tight, trembling and pale, soft in the hands of the young wizard who had evoked so much effort.
gasped the boy, quiet and solemn to not show their weakness - sitting in a small niche so as to feel the breeze rustled uncomfortably against cold skin. Donald
the vampire stared at him, on the other side, the arms close to his chest and a look of boredom annoying to dye her face in death. Already looking forward to the tip of my tongue would feel the pleasure in seeing his blood flow and slow to mix with the pool of water at his feet.
"We do not even think about" snapped a voice serious and adult to his right, and was so familiar that even looked back at the owner to respond with some irritation potergli fatigue.
"I'm not thinking about anything, knight. "
" Really? " Yorick's Wellington stood in front and looked at him, one hand still resting on the hilt of the sword in the scabbard and the other left to rest against the side. "Because to me it looks like you're staring at our sole source of salvation as if you did not see the time to stick your dirty above. "
was shaken, the knight, and therefore less polite and respectful than usual, and less inclined to keep constantly in mind his own nobility. He had a cut on his forehead who lost his helmet and was unable to prevent the throat so dry by forcing to lighten it loudly from time to time. The young magician
winced at these words, and looking up the globe of light between his hands trailed off for a while. It was the largest of the vampire, both physical and apparent age, but not as the rider who at that moment I was defending the common good. His name was Farran and did not name, was a trainee with limited enforcement capacity of power but oozed from every pore.
He said nothing, merely staring at Donald as if ready to spring at any moment, and that in response smiled and without sharp teeth.
" Do not worry, baby, I'm not going to touch you. "The wizard frowned on that appeal and the light grew in intensity, enough to illuminate much of the rest of the cave. The walls were down and the roof nearly forced the rider to keep down, the rocks were piled up on both sides that they should serve as an exit and not even a breath of air to help them in that uncomfortable situation. "At least until we get out of here. "Yorick
shook his head and sighed, stopped short because he did not want to waste oxygen and attempted then to calm down. The vampire did not need to breathe and that was good, but it was stuck in that hole for so long that fatigue and sleep lost were beginning to be felt.
"See to make profit, instead. "Blurted out after a while, sighing again. She was beginning to feel the heavy head and reflexes get slower. Despite all turned to look at the magician, although he was an enemy of the vampire as it was if nothing else was human, and looked at him from head to foot. "Do not you have something that takes us out of here? A spell, I do not know, something ? "What
is frowned once again, the flame in his hands now gave off a strong light, and sketched a sullen grimace worthy of his young age, but not his title.
"You seem to assume that my knowledge of magic arts to make me powerful. Following this logic, you should be among the most skilled swordsmen of your people. If so begins to take a sword rocks, you see how it goes. "
There was a moment of total silence, so that did not feel even the water flow from the walls, and then laughed so Donald strong that the puddle at his feet trembled - the view of the knight who was passing from one to another with surprise and annoyance. Finally cursed half-heartedly, more and more convinced that none of the two breeds should never have prevailed on her, and began to walk a few steps in that small space that is now beginning to keep up too tight.
The vampire moves in turn, so quiet as to seem part of the same shade of light emanating from the globe, and slowly reached the young man. What is stretched again, stared straight into his eyes and moved his feet just to be ready to shoot if it were needed.
Donald smiled again and slowly blinked his eyes in a less threatening and less vampire who managed to take.
"I said do not touch, no? "
" You also said you'll do when we get out of here. I do not like the friendships short, sorry. He just moved and was almost about to stand up. "And then you called me 'little'. Nobody calls me 'little'. "
" Shut up. "The voice warned them not too far away to Yorick, that had in the meantime I intend to feel the rocks there where the light was not as strong.
"Of course you have a nice long tongue" mocked him, the vampire, still staring at him. He had that kind of blank stare that foretold the rampage as the pleasure they have taken in doing so, and Farran did not like at all.
"Thank you. "
" It was not a compliment. "
" I said, Shut up! "Boomed the voice of the knight so strong as to force both the young to turn toward him. He was staring at the rocks piled up, not far from them, and had one hand resting between a rock and another. "Come a bit 'here, Donald. "The vampire snorted
despite not need air to live and rolled his eyes. He laid his hand on her hip and stared at the man who had called him, without moving.
"What are you, knight? "All that
situation for him was nothing more than a slight nuisance, something unexpected that would only benefit by the end of the day. In the long run would be the only one to survive, one way or another oxygen-starvation and, exasperation and strength of spirit-and returning to what he did not know if you do not call 'home' he would be hailed as a hero.
Yorick turns to look, a slight grin to ruin the beauty of her face. "Can you bring down here without hitting everything? "In saying tapped a couple of fingers against the wet rock. "You have superhuman strength, no? Trying to be helpful. "
" Yeah, trying to be helpful. 'He muttered in reply, the young magician, one hand resting behind his back to his feet and the other to hold the ball of light. Donald
pursed lips, staring at the rider first and then the hard rock that was asking him to pieces with his bare hands, and for a moment did not reply. He glanced at the magician, who was standing much taller than him, and then again Sir Wellington.
"On one condition. "He said after a moment, moving safely a couple of steps toward the man in wanting to achieve. Yorick knew immediately that this condition would not like at all. "Your blood knight. I want a bit '. "
" I'm in, "said Farran, and the other two turned to face him. "... What? "
" You can not take her? "Said the disappointed rider, so riottenendo the attention of the vampire. Suddenly it seemed more than willing to get rid of that wizard so lacking in solidarity against him. The other smiled, showing sharp teeth, and slowly shook his head.
"I need your. "
" Why? "
" Why yes. "
There was a long silence, broken only by the anxiety of the magician and the hoarse roar of the water that dripped from the walls undaunted.
"How much? Asked then Yorick, his throat suddenly dry more than desired.
"As what? "
" How much blood, boy, what do you think I'm talking about? "
did not want to die, not that way and not in that place. With a sword in his chest would be better than all that, and certainly more honorable. He had a wife waiting for him at home and a whole army to control, but he knew that they would understand and would have died if it was praised for his people. But in that way-with fangs of a vampire stuck in its throat-no, not accepting it.
Donald shrugged his shoulders, as if it had not the slightest idea, and looked upon the rock beside them looked at it absently. We put his hand on a cold and silent scroll left, as the air grew heavier and flawed.
I do not know, we'll see. He turned then to fix it, once again, more serious than the situation requires it - at least on his part. "I have your word, knight? "The man returned
eyes, tense and annoyed, suspicious and uncertain self-feeling on the eyes of a magician. He was taken to puff, louder than before, but without abandoning his serious frown, because of the magic that lack the strength and the air began to fail.
sighed and shook his head.
"Okay. You have my word. "
Mage Knight and moved back up to what allowed him the narrow space in which they were held, and the vampire took a step forward. He felt the two human beings share a few brief words "Do you know a healing spell? "Did I just say that this globe of light does not illuminate the caves, but to warm the stew" and rest your right hand against the rock gave a quiet chuckle. He breathed, feeling for the first time need to do it, and closed his eyes.
What followed was a movement so rapid as to be invisible to Yorick and Farran, and a roar so loud it shook the bones and meat in the breast of both.
pieces of rocks and streams of water shot up to the room with force and vehemence, and hit the walls surrounding the vampire before him. Hit the ground freezing and the low ceiling, mage, knight and armor that protected him worse than you should. The crumpled between the stomach and chest, including shoulders and back, cutting it the breath as simple and pure instinct-to-stands in front of the younger one to protect him as he could.
A flash of light flooded the room, bring along a breath of fresh air that seemed almost icy, and Donald was forced to retreat abruptly - that sizzled skin sore for the sun who had barely touched. She gasped, pressing her back against the niche that had just hosted the young wizard, and looking up he found himself staring at the two humans.
They had separated and hoarse coughing, now that the dust had entered the lungs and the morning light shines on them annoying, and by instinct already stretched to the exit you just created.
The vampire swallowed, breathing quietly, and fell back against the wall damp and dark hours that belonged to him. 'Knight. "He called without much strength, sure of his own voice. What is
turned to look, the armor that was pressing on me like a giant's hand, and the sorcerer stopped in turn. There was a moment of silence, interrupted only by small pieces of rock that had not yet found their place.
"Your word? "Continued Donald, a slight smile to curl his thin lips.
"The word thing, vampire? "Neither of them tended to the magician who still trying to shake the dust off. "Do you think I'll go without to keep the promise? "
" The impression is. "
The man stared for a long time, his heart pounding in her chest and throat sharply. He felt the gaze of Farran and press it against the back of the vampire that does not force him to back off, so that the rider asked for a moment if not the same mesmerizing somehow. He seemed too quiet and too relaxed, given the situation - could drag in the pool of light that he had granted him and get it over there, once and for all. Yorick
sighed and shook his head, managed to look away and turned to the magician. "You go ahead. "Said almost wearily annoyed. "To you should not do anything anyway. "
The other returned the glance, little lower than him, and for a moment said nothing. "No, because it was implied that I should expect? "
Donald could not suppress a laugh and the knight was frowned annoyed. "Go away and that's it, dammit! "Finally snapped, pressing a hand on his shoulder even to encourage him to leave. Farran
snorted and shrugged, took a few steps and began to climb the pile of rocks that separated him from the green grass. He stopped when he reached with a short gasp, and turning towards the inside of the cave gave a good look at the rider. He was more bruised and battered than it was supposed to be, perhaps because of the way in which the shield had done just before the fall of rocks.
pursed lips, as if something particularly annoying ailed him inside, settling the suit and shook his head.
"If you do not feel that you have returned to camp before nightfall will send someone to find you, Knight. "
And then he left, more loudly than he wanted, toward what was his home and he knew he would never left alone for a while.
The water had begun to run silent, the walls of the cave now illuminated by the sun, leaving time to time to drop some heavy colasse to a dark pool that the short earthquake was unable to move. Yorick
sighed, shaking his head slowly, without haste and looked back at the vampire. What
chuckled and shrugged casually, still safe in the niche that protected him from sunlight. "If you do not return by evening would be quite useless to send someone to look for, you know? "He said after a while 'to break the silence, watching the man who walked slowly and cautiously. "Unless you are looking for your corpse, of course. "
" It's not that it makes me want to bite me, you know? "Interrupted the other, frowning. The he came and stopped, looked at the rock wall and the light could not illuminate the whole. It made him almost as a shield, in that way, so that the vampire felt a bit 'safer and sat upright on his back. He looked paler than usual and it was certainly quieter than had ever been.
"How long have not ..." could not find a term that could be not quite suitable distasteful to his ears. "What do not you feed? "The vampire
sketched a face that should have been a smile. "Worried, knight? "Almost mocked him, and slowly lift your left hand and held it rested on his shoulder. He moved silently, as relaxed as possible, as a man of reason not to retire.
"You respond. "
" For some '. Happy? "Part of the answer was covered by a sharp sound of metal clashing against wet rock, and the knight stepped back almost by instinct. Donald clenched my hand between his shoulder and arm and forced him to stand still, piece of armor that was now falling to the ground.
"Unless you really want to be bitten in the throat or wrist, gentlemen ..." "Stop calling me that, you're repeating ' "the only choice that remains is the shoulder. You should survive, if I stop in time. "
" Should I? "The rest of the armature
mussels against the ground with a thud, and the knight suddenly felt too exposed. He did not like being so close to the vampire, and knowing how it would end the story certainly did not help him.
stretched her lips into a line of annoyance, damages for having given his word to the monster that probably would have bled to death, and stood still. Stiff as a piece of wood is not allowed even to look away, staring straight ahead as well as the vampire rose on tiptoe so great was the difference in height.
felt the strong heart beat in my chest, and the worst thing was that Donald felt the same thing - he felt his hand breaking his metal mesh to let the meat free to be bitten.
That was all I could focus on which Yorick, in that instant, and the next moment all I heard were the fangs of the vampire thick stick in his shoulder tightened.
tensed suddenly groaned, but he felt the other pressing against him and sighed for the irritation, breathing in order to stay out of breath from all that. He felt the blood begin to flow and the slow sucking Donald him a background, slowest and controlled than it is in fact expected.
let him, though he knew of having to stop as soon as possible, closing his eyes and tried to concentrate on something else.
On the breeze that brushed his head silently, perhaps, and the rhythmic tapping that water had begun to impose on their dripping down.
Then there was another sound, less rhythmic and more suffused, who mingled with the sounds of life beyond the cave and those of the puddle of water which gradually swelled. Yorick is frowned
, panting, just put a hand on the vampire's stomach to force him to back off, without success, and instinctively lowered his face. He stared at something over the shoulder of the younger, narrowing his eyes, and stretched his free hand to go and tighten your fingers around the wrist of the other.
him up without success since the vampire let him do, and for an instant fix that before him - only later realized that those pieces of flesh and broken bones attached to the palm were pulped his fingers so deadly enemy.
forced him to turn it up a bit 'more, to allow a ray of light to clarify the situation, and without noticing it took him a ray of sunshine in the middle, making the red blood a sparkling ruby.
Donald groaned and pulled away suddenly, she gasped and slammed her back against the wall for the pain unbearable. He kept his injured hand, looking up, the rider could well see his white teeth sparkling in the dim light of the niche-swallowing and remained motionless for a moment staring at him. Yorick
looked at him as he had never done before, scratching his stomach and feel the disgust and curiosity push it against the neck. He wondered if it was that fist against the rock wall to reduce it that way, and wondered if the blood of the vampire that had deprived him not serve to make him feel better faster.
The hand began to heal, slowly, curled in on itself until, like magic, do not shoot a human form, recognizable by touch and sight.
Donald smiled, panting as if he had just escaped death, relaxing against the wall and brought both hands behind his back, as if to hide them.
"What did you expect? "The
pressed on his back like a blanket of iron, that sun so hot that the vampire could never appreciate, and for a moment did not know what to do. He had no reason to stay, and had no reason to hurry because he wanted to leave.
The knight stepped back slightly, letting a flood of light from the colasse shoulder injury and thus illuminate a corner of the rock wall. She watched him for a long time, almost tense, until he was sure that morning sun would not have finished with the char so petulant that his enemy with the advance of hours. Then
pursed lips, stepping back again, and looked back at the boy. He felt his throat dry and biting his shoulder throbbing so much to give him nausea.
I do not know. "He said just a moment later, picking up their armor to shake his hands. Then he turned and shook his head, breathed quietly and began to walk. "Not that. "Resounded
dry and abrupt, the steps of Yorick who began to climb the pile of rocks, and Donald frowned for a moment. Then he smiled, shaking his head in turn, and placing both hands on the dark walls as he leaned his abomination of nature would permit.
"They're more human than you want to admit, knight! "
